I was asked to create a visually compelling and consistent brand identity for a new makeup brand, Lavish Beats, that resonates with target audiences and differentiates itself from competitors. The only existing assets included the brand name. Together we created a tagline, logo design, color scheme, typography, visual style guidelines, brand guidelines, packaging design, and website design.

CONCEPT

Inspired by Lavish Beats' commitment to quality and community empowerment, we developed a 'Soft Power' concept reflecting femininity and strength. The resulting typographic design exudes confidence and sophistication in its simplicity, capturing the brand's values and mission.

LOGOMARK

We modified the Lavish Beats wordmark from the primary typeface, to pay homage to the luxurious lettering associated with the fashion industry. The logotype reflects the concept of 'Soft Power' with a combination of text style and sharp edges, creating an elegant and editorial expression in the design. In addition to the wordmark, we incorporated an icon logo type, which is a representation of the brand's mission to empower and uplift communities through quality makeup. The wordmark's simplicity adds a timeless quality to the brand, fitting seamlessly into various applications regardless of size, shape, or function. It adds a sense of permanence to every design element, highlighting the beauty in simplicity while showcasing the brand's elegance.

DESIGN SYSTEM

The design system for Lavish Beats is simple yet full of character, with subtle interactions that complement the brand's values. The striking typographic execution of the wordmark is supported by GT Walsheim Pro, a secondary typeface that complements the identity's precise and systematic nature. Together, the two allow the identity to effortlessly adapt across various applications, radiating luxury and celebrating the brand's subtle sophistication over excess.
